Impressions and Permissions

SOURCE 🝰 First Impressions 🝯 VISUAL: Five foot six, pale, slim, dark eyes and hair. Two piercings in its lip and one in each ear. Profoundly androgynous. To most people, there's nothing overtly inhuman about Kit; it's a skinny hipster twenty-something in way too much eyeliner and a little otherworldly, but well within human norms. To other fae, people with mental illnesses that effect their sense of reality, or people with an ability to see through illusions, Kit's appearance is more like the art in its icons - sharper features, pointed ears, and enormous, solid black eyes. 🝯 FASHION: Lots of skinny jeans, draped scarves, and artfully oversized sweaters. Occasionally switches it up for skirts and leggings. Usually carries a messenger bag at its side; wears dumb hipster sneakers. Usually wears dark glasses if outside during the day. 🝯 DEMEANOUR: Default attitude is a little aloof and standoffish; has a marked tendency to stare. Almost always fidgeting with its phone. Cultivates something of a flat affect, which pretty much evaporates about the time it decides it likes a person. 🝯 SOUND: Unremarkable, and slightly geographically ambiguous, north-eastern US accent. Androgynous timbre. 🝯 SCENT: Pumpkin spice. Against all reason, no matter the location or the time of year, Kit always smells faintly of pumpkin spice. 🝯 MENTAL INFORMATION: Kit has no particular mental defenses; on the contrary, it's distractable and, under the dry millenial self-deprecation, pretty profoundly traumatized. 🝯 MAGICAL INFORMATION: Kit started out human; its current appearance, nature, and powers are the result of nearly a decade of constant exposure to the uncontrolled magic of Arcadia and the intentional manipulation of its True Fae keeper. Fae magic is heavily based in contracts with abstract concepts; Kit's strongest associations are with darkness, knowledge, ellusiveness, and the season autumn (and by association, the emotion of fear). It also has a reflexive and involuntary illusionary appearance (its "Mask") which hides its fae appearance (its "Mien") from mundane humans; this is what causes it to appear human to most people, and can't be dismissed without burning through its entire supply of magical energy.
